Shepherds’ Conference 2008

I am in Southern California in the company of over 3,000 faithful pastors at the 2008 Shepherds’ Conference. The conference is one of my favorite events of the year, and I am so glad to be here with my good friend Dr. John MacArthur, host of the conference and pastor of Grace Community Church. John MacArthur is counted among the most powerful and faithful expositors of Scripture of our times, and he has influenced thousands of others around the world. Millions love to hear him preach, and these pastors are drawn to this conference in hopes of becoming more faithful in their own expository preaching.

It is a great honor for me to preach the evening session tonight. I will be preaching on Deuteronomy 4, and asking this question: Why is exposition so rare in our churches?
